Bloody bird poo

So I spotted a massive bit if poo on my wife's carbon black f30. Didn't remove for 2 days and when I did last night, it's left a stain.
Tried using my Supagard products and even though there's fantastic shine, I can still see that blemish.

Will that mark disappear in time?

Leaving it for that long has unfortunately and permanently damaged your paint :sorry:
I try as hard as possible to stay away from trees, for this exact reason. My poor Jetta was a canvas for artistic birds...

You could try a detail to remove the stain, but it'll need professional doing.

Good luck bud.

@Dippies....why the baby wipes....you gonna wipe the bids @rse....Hahahahaha!

Yeah, I have heard some stories about bird poop! Is it not perhaps fixable by just flatting and reapplying a clear coat....surely the undercoat hasnt been damaged, but rather the clear coat?

Try using a Clay Bar with some Detailing spray.

Sonax has a Clay Bar with Detailing Spray for about R185 at Builder Warehouse.

I had this on my 335i some months back, but I was lucky enough to remove it with Dent Doctor Speedwax suprisingly.

I've tried this before, and it didn't work as well as hoped :fencelook:

Clay will not work as it is only designed to remove contamination from the surface of the paint, the bird poo would have eaten slightly through your clear coat.

Depending on the damage, it could be corrected with compound.

Post a pic and we can advise more accurately.

Sometimes the dullness that is left behind is the actual residue of the poo itself. You can try to dissolve this which “could” lighten the stain. In most cases you are still left with the actual etching itself. Again, trying to dissolve the residue on the surrounds of the etching helps mask the damage, which makes it much harder to spot. If the etching is pretty serious, then compounding the area with a decent swirl remover is your only other option. So far I’ve been lucky with dissolving the stains and not having to compound.

Steps to dissolve the stain with an acid wash:

Mix a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and distilled water.
Place a paper towel over the affected area and spray the above solution (using a spray bottle) so that it saturates the area
Allow this to sit for about 15-20 mins.
Wash off with a normal shampoo
Repeat if necessary.

If found that this radically improved by bird poop stain, and I didn't even have to compound !

Good luck…

But shipping this kit to the UK for him will add to the cost

Bird poo. The sooner you get that off your car the better
The acidity of the poo is enhance by heat

Clay won't remove it. Iv had a few cars with bird poo etching and they normally polish out
The worst one Iv seen was a purple coloured stain on a white car

This also works really well for water marks
