With the sand storms here, having ceramic coating makes it easier to clean. Also, that additional layer helps with that dust scratches.

So, at the car wash i pictured above a wash is 120aed - But thats like your The357 styled car wash where things are done properly using proper equipment and products. It also includes an engine and undercarriage wash over and above the detailed interior cleaning. So, its worth it for that once a month clean.

Weekly, i use the ADNOC (filling station) touchless car wash which is 40aed (i get it at 30aed due to premium card holder) which is a quick 15min wash job but its pretty decent and the most importantly touchless except for the vacuum part.
Been trying to convince my sister in Qatar to do the same, everytime she sends me pics of her car after a sandstorm..., i'm like....:blueCry::blueCry:

But in Qatar car detailing is ridiculous, cant remember exact price, but i remember it equating to over R16k for a simple detail with ceramic.

Oh its around the same here then... On average, a full detail and coating can cost around 4k aed...

What a gorgeous Ford!! I also find myself staring at them when in the UAE as they are very pretty and bulky at the same time.

Even the previous shapes were prettier in comparison to other SUV's in that market. Not sure why they don't bring them here other than perhaps they only make them in LHD.

Thanks man! Yeah, i was honestly not a fan of the previous shape but agreed on comparison to other SUV's.

The 2019 shape is very similar to the one i have. Although, the ST has a better gearbox and 20hp more.

Jeez! Been a while since this thread was updated.

Dont blame me, my attention goes towards the M3. Hardly ever take pics of the Ford and with its service and warranty plans still intact (believe it) theres really not much to report on.

Its just ticked over 30k km. Possibly going to keep it longer as i see no reason to replace it. Its a perfect daily and does exceptionally well when we have more family or friends over.

This December, she comfortably carried 5 adults and 2 kids around Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaima and even did a lovely trip to Al Ain.

Some really bad pics i found...

With the last lot of visitors leaving today, the Ford will get a proper clean this weekend and continue duties as the Family/Daily car.

The Ford Edge Sport just ticked onto its 3rd year in my ownership and 35,000km done. I have had no complaints, the car runs beautifully and is honestly a better looking SUV from most out there. Proud to say that its the first car that i have not modded at all. Unless you want to classify ceramic coating or a weekly air freshener a mod, LOL. Cant say its cos im getting older, the M3 proves otherwise!

Was planning to trade it in this year for either a new Edge ST or something back in the BMW stable to join the M3 but the recent COVID19 situations and its effected economy i have decided to just keep the Ford Edge for another year. Currently, she still has a year on her Service plan and 3 years on the warranty so I still have less worry keeping it.

Here are some random pics...

Great to hear Arbee - looks amazing and it has not dated at all in terms of design. I think Ford has a bad rap in SA because of the dealers. The cars are very interesting though!

Thanks Llew! The longest i kept a car was the 330d, 4 years. I cant say this one will beat it although i do enjoy driving and owning it. Wife also loves it, she even stopped saying she misses the X3.

Kids love it, they have their screens in the back.

I would have never looked at Ford in SA. Here, i have always had a good experience at Ford, all through buying the car and getting it serviced etc. Even the body shop, great experience.

Thanks man...

I think so too.. Size wise, i would say its inbetwen the x3 and x5. Although space wise, its X5 big. Features and tech is as good as the X5. Build quality, it comes close but not exactly BMW.
