Could be worse, wife could be pregnant with triplets ?

...and it could be the neighbours :biglol:

So appears that the computer box is corroded/water damaged.

What are my options??

Get a new ECU froma scrappie and take it to Gert at OBDWorx to sort you out.

He might also be able to fix your water damaged one too, give that Guru a call.

I swear by his work!

Next question:
There's no point in replacing the ECU only to have the problem pop up again (at great expense i might add)

So... How do i prevent this from happening again? What do i need to fix/replace/check?

Aaaaand Go! :praise:

Onyx - the E90 are prone to having this issue, because the ECU is housed behind the bonnet gutter well.

There is a way to prevent the water from entering and another way is relocation (bollocks hard). Gert knew a way to prevent, just ask him again. We spoke about this a few times when we had our cars tuned.

My brother has a similar issue with the ECU - check with the insurance, he got his done through them.

Thats is true, but if you want to avoid a claim & increased incurance next year etc etc and pay a few bucks to get it fixed then gert can help, even better than the insurance guys can...guaranteed!

***UPDATE***

Thanks for all the referrals to Gert from OBD Worx!
He took the time to email me to explain the problem and also called me to assist where he could... :praise: Support him – he's one of the good guys!

The great news is that my Insurance investigated and yesterday i heard that they approved the Insurance Claim. The ±R1000 excess i have to pay is a drop in the ocean compared to the quote to have my vehicle fixed.

I'm happy/relieved/thinking of trading in after this latest escapade
