Stick to OEM. Check your owners manual.

I have the NGK DCPR8EVX's in the vehicle for nearly 8 months, I've done about 5000 kilo's with them and have had no problems. It actually had quite abit more torque, I dont know if it was the plugs or the decat I did which was done on the same day.

If its any help
I changed from the OEM plugs R125each to the NGK double Platinums R165each and I am happy and their service interval is alot longer than the OEM plugs. I got them from master parts. Car feels more responsive but not much but that OEM plugs had done 7500km. If these plugs stay good for 30000km then I will be happy

Bumping this old thread for any new info.

I have 2 sets and contemplating which to use.

NGK - DCPR 8EKP (OEM from BMW) Dual tip 0.6mm gap

and

NGK - DCPR 8EVX single tip 0.8mm gap (I'm considering these)

Andy I've used both the EKP and the EVX, The EVX is a shed load cheaper than the EKP. Stuck EKP's in on the last service (The OEM one). No ill effects on either, car was the same on both. The turbo/supercharged/nitrous brigade will be better off with a cooler plug.

Thanks Glen,

My mind just told me that maybe the single tip (less chamber protrusion) might allow for a better burn. Also reading that the single tip doesn't last as long so I figured maybe it burns better and depletes quicker. Which is fine by me.

I did swap them out when I did valve clearances and nil effect was noticed. Car starts the same, consumption seems the same everything seems the same.

I reckon whichever one you find go for it. I'll probably go back to OEM (next time round) just for peace of mind.
