Best fluids for E36

Hi guys,

I have planned to do a fluid's change and posted the question as to what the best suitable brands are to on my E36 318I i.e. P/s fluid, oil, coolant and will top up my aircon gas...

Any suggestions?

I'd also like to know which coolant and oil it uses. Doesn't BMW have special coolant they make for a arm and a leg?

BMW coolant is actually 40-50% cheaper than VW's. I only use BMW coolant. The last time I bought it was R50-60 per litre.

BMW specify 5W30 oil, IIRC it's the LL01 specification for E36. Think they use the green Castrol Magnatec but many people use Shell Helix Ultra 5W40.

Power steering fluid is Castrol Dexron II ATF.
