Guys this isn't a debate. Its a discussion. And yes if I had the extra cash I would buy the kit from Moranor.

its fine but i still have to prove that the Beisan Systems kit is better... do you agree that all the seals are NOT available from BMW?

Yes this kit is better. The O rings hold up better under extreme conditions. With regards to BMW not having some of the parts....Let's agree to disgree.

No unfortunately I cant just let it be because you have brought my product into disrepute while not having all the info...

these parts are NOT available from BMW if you have some how found them at BMW please provide part numbers so i can cross reference because i cannot find these part numbers anywhere...

BMW provide two piston seals 11311317732 and 11361403704 there are 9 other internal piston seals that BMW does NOT sell separate...

Vanos uses oil pressure to change timing so without changing ALL the piston seals some pressure is lost so vanos is not operating properly... while the two seals from BMW will improve the pressure loss somewhat you need to change all the seals to make it work properly...

so not only does the Beisan Systems kit provide better material seals but it also provides ALL the seals NEEDED to make the vanos operate correctly...

Shaun I bought all the O rings from BMW. I bought them some came from Germany. Everything O ring in that diagram came. Go to realoem part numbers are there.

the seals im talking about are not on any of the realoem diagrams... because BMW do not sell them separate...

the only piston seals BMW sell are number 19 and 20 in this diagram (there are 9 more seals custom made for the pistons from Beisan Systems) the other seals from BMW are external seals:

Moranor is there seals for the solenoid as well ?

the solenoid seals are not available from Beisan Systems because they are not exposed to the same harsh conditions as the internal seals... the BMW ones do a good job there :) and they seem pretty cheap from the dealers...

4 x large solenoid O-ring (11-36-7-830-828) $2.29/each, 4 x small solenoid O-ring (11-36-7-830-829) $3.38 / each

Been sitting with the Beisen vanos kit for my S50B30 since last year already :fencelook: will hopefully get to it sometime

do you have the right one? because the euro M3 one only came out last week... the US M3 kit wont fit the SA M3... if you got the wrong kit you can trade it in with me for a credit on the right kit :)

Cool thanks Shaun....will check and let you know asap

if you got them before now 100% they wrong... but luckily the US M3 uses the same seals as the M52b so i can just sell your seals onto someone with a non M e36... as long as they not damaged in any way :)

Still in the original packaging Shaun. Haven't touched them. Here's a link to the thread I created when I got them. It has pics of the packaging that contains the part numbers. http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=19837 - packaging says its S50 compatible but please check and confirm.

Ok just checked again and its says US S50 :flyfun:

No moranor did all the seals about 5 months ago
Initially my thinking was buy a beisan kit and keep it untill the oem seals give way but i have no way of telling when that will happen iam hoping it will last me another 100k kms

Thanks Moranor

What you think about Dr Vanos rebuild vs the seal + rattle kit option ?

Dr Vanos replace the seals and change out any damaged parts so it is better but it is also alot more expensive... if you willing to spend the cash i would recommend that route...

lol just wondering :)
like I told Heven BMW do no include all the seals needed for a proper vanos overhaul so its not the same thing...

but if you not planing on fitting the kit now anyway its a bit silly to buy it now  you can just get it when you ready to do the job...

I have had a bit of a private conversation with Heven about the seals and it seems i was not clear enough about what seals are not sold by BMW...

the seals that are not available from BMW are the small vanos piston seals on right of this pic(the 4 groups of flat ones)
bs041_large.jpg

they go on the vanos pistons which use oil pressure to change the timing and need a good seal to work:

image110.jpg

if you are confused where the seals go have a look at the Seal DIY i know the pics i put up might not be clear enough... there are more in the DIY and you should be able to work it out if these are not enough...

the seals i have shown above are not on any of the BMW diagrams because BMW do not sell them...

you are more than welcome to search and prove me wrong if you feel i am not right... please do provide part numbers so i can cross reference...

without changing these piston seals NOT available from BMW you are not fixing the whole problem (not even for a short while) because oil pressure will still be lost at the piston so it will not be 100%... so the BMW seals are not a cheaper temp fix as stated earlier in the tread because not all the seals are changed...

the Beisan Systems kits provide ALL the seals needed to address the vanos problem and these seals are made out of Viton which is a much better material for the conditions found inside the vanos...

the Beisan Systems rattle kit addresses vanos rattle by closing up clearances at the pistons and prevents damage to the cam gears... as far as BMW are concerned these parts last long enough so you should just buy a new vanos from them :nonono:

Yes I agree BMW do not have the seals on the right. The flat 1s.

glad i could clear this up with you :) IF bmw did provide all the seals i would agree that they would be a viable cheaper fix but unfortunately they do not :(
