Hi Guys & Gals,

New to this forum but have been hooked on a BMW since 1980.

1980-1995 Oxford Green 518 2lt - 438 000 kms - Oh those Strombergs!!!! :argh:

1983-1987 Silver R100S - 72 000 kms - Biggest mistake I ever made was selling that bike! The only good "doef-doef" sound to this day!

1989-2003 Baby Blue BMW 2004 (1974 model) - 374 000 kms - Bought it with 120 000 kms on the clock to restore it - drove it plenty of miles and never restored it due to lack of time.

1995-1998 Oxford Green 316i - 99 992 kms - Traded this one in on the next one 8kms short of Motorplan expiry.

1998 - present Bright Red 318iS - 489 300 kms - Best BM I ever bought!!! :joy:

2011-present Bright Red 320i - 87 400 kms.

With the exception of the bike and the BMW 2004, was fortunate to have bought them all new.

Almost 1.5 million kilos done in all of them over the past 33 years - never driven anything else (except for the hired car jalopies every now and so often).

Hope this gives you a small picture of who I am and looking forward to chat with you all.

Chris

Thanks LPM320!

That same E36 still doesn't use oil and it seems like its making petrol compared to the E90!

Hope you have pics of the older BMWs that you drove! I had the 518 2 litre twin carb as well, in Reseda Green. What a powerful machine - very scary! Especially in the wet!

Welcome!

While we wait for Bakela's pics, our old E12 518 2.0 Twin Stromberg Carb BMW!

We drove her 18 years before we had to let her go!
