In black in the metal these things really are menacing. I'll never be convinced by the new BMW design language but the M2 is the one car that has somewhat grown on me.
Please don't do cape town things to this one (land it in a hedge).

What happens in Cape Town stays there 🤣 Their M cars must also banned from being sold in Gauteng,
This is the way.

M1 was in ECO setting and M2 in full-blown DSC off!

It all makes sense now, by default M2 = Moertoe

Congrats on the car though and thanks for the backstory, it made the morning coffee go down nicely!

The m2 in black with those extras..actually a looker and yes..menacing for sure..with the G82 x drive almost unaffordable rn..a G87 is becoming an attractive option for most prev gen M owners.

Also..the G87 apparently is by many accounts faster than the G80/G82 models in drag and rolling races.

@jld010 now that you mention it was I meant to post the experience I had with a G83 M4 it had M4 performance pipes, had a run with him on an undisclosed road one day as I was going to see a client, he was behind me for about two traffic lights prior and I thought he was not interested, when the road opened up I was at about 20/30km/h speeds after the traffic light turned green and my car was already in full attack mode (M2 Setting) the most brutal that can be configured.... I saw him in my rearview mirror(Like a hunter with a Rifle) and at this stage I was probably about a car length ahead or a length and a half in front of him, I floored the throttle and was able to hold him off until 210/220km/h at this point I could see he was going to pass me but we both tapped of a white bunny rabbit (Toyota Etios), afterwhich I lost interest as there were Popo ahead but he proceeded to bullet pass anyways, popo were on the opposite side though  But for any popo reading this, this is a true story which happened while playing need for speed on my PS5 🤣

So in line with the video's floating around on youtube, I was highly skeptical and thought the guy who was posting the videos scretely modded his M2 but from my own experience (Virtually while gaming 😉) it all adds up and makes sense now. If any M3/M4 driver leaves margin for error the M2 is gonna take it, however if an M3/M4 drive knows how to pedal their car its over for the M2 reaction times are everything, having the car ready and in the correct mode is vital for winning a race.

Ill never try a M4 x drive from a dig though. 😁

Had some time to do a Dyno run recently. Yes I am one of those guys who always like to have a reference for the power my cars make so it was of to Colab Tuning to do this run, why I selected Colab Dyno ? Simple they purchased the KAR Dyno which I have always used for reference in the past so naturally this was the dyno of choice. There were 3 runs..... 2 on 35% correction factor and then I asked a few questions and Rahul mentioned he can match the correction factor from the run I did on my F82 M4 suprisingly he has the data for that run on his system and I am so glad for that!... So for all intensive purposes pay attention to run 3/test 3 on the dyno run below this is for my G87 M2 bone stock the only perfomance mods are front lip and rear boot spoiler 🤣

All in all happy with the outcome, results are similar to what UK and US G87s are making

Now here is the run with same correction factor from my F82 M4 back in the Day (Also bone stock)

To sum up 358kw on the wheels on the G87 M2 vs 310kw on the wheels on the F82 M4

*EDIT* Thought I would another reference from Burger Motorsport stock baseline 477hp = 355kw

350kw+, that's V10 M6 power. I can see why so many CPTians binned these!!! 2nd gear flat foot must be quite interesting.

depsite all that power it is way more manageable than the F82 M4 I had especially in the lower gears, I think i may have found the sweet spot as well using the 10 stage control. The launch control is also eventful and the power gets put down properly compared to my F82 M4, seems BMW have found a way for this RWD bugger to lay down the power properly.

Now how one lands this thing on its roof is another story

Car is in for protective flim full frontal. The roads are horrible and no rain lately doesn't help. After the M340i and the road rash it developed after 2 years I had to get something done for the M2.

Amazingly flat torque curve on this engine. Must really haul in the top gears for effortless overtaking and eye watering sprints to highly illegal road speeds.
