What is it like importing stuff from SA?
Courier is expensive! Its still cost effective! Car parts are cheap here, no point importing that.
Aftermarket mod parts are expensive. Its on a 1 to 1 ratio with SA (R20k mods is 20k aed).

Howzit all,

So we finally took delivery of our X3 yesterday and simply cannot leave it alone for more than an hour. Soon as i picked it up i started with a simple wash as i usually do when i buy a car, it gives me a feel of the car and this is how i take note of its blemishes!

I must say, the condition of this X3 is great, i noticed 1 door ding and a scratch on the entire body. Doesnt look like its had recent paint work either. The body also feels smooth, i suppose its been detailed not too long ago.

After the condition, the next impressive part is the features, i have been drivint BMW's for close to 15 years and i have never owned or seen so many extras. I believe this is a norm here? In SA, we pay for every feature so its seldom you find a fully spec'd car, generally.

Comments welcome...

Shukran, Riyo. 7 months no BM. 6 weeks of driving my dads car while i was in SA. Then 5 rentals... The rentals were fun but so frustrating.

Speed limits are enforced here like you cant believe. Waze warns "speed trap ahead" on the highways on a 2km interval. So having a car with cruise control makes the drive easier, albeit boring. Sticking to a speed in a car without CC is difficult.

At least the max speed limit on the national highway is 200km/h. I can live with that.

Yep. 6 lane highway, no trucks or busses allowed. Pretty new as well. I would say its about a 100km stretch where the speed limit is 200km/h. It is a tolled road...

The free roads, max is 140km/h in some parts. Mostly 120km/h max.

Did a lekker run last night to Sharjah, Dubai and back to Abu Dhabi, roughly 350km so did just over 500km since getting the car. First fuel up today, the light had just came on and filled till first click, 98dh made the guy round it off. (Garages here dont fill to the top).

Super is 98
Special is 95
EPlus is 91
See, no Diesel.
