Car went in for service and all of a sudden the oil level thingy (which I think is a gimmick) is giving of random levels. Yesterday it said there was no oil at all in the car and yet I didn't get any warning lights or anything.
Happens on mine as well. That oil level depiction is retarded. If the car tells you to add oil (on the dash) then add oil...

@subloaded and @Ruaad

How is the weather looking that side? Do I pack beach shorts and a sun hat or Trench coat with some wellingtons?

been checking accuweather but they get it wrong sometimes. Like now it says thunderstorms and wet weather while its dry and cold in my current location.

This owe bailed from his TLGP again :roflol: :roflol: :roflol:

So as I get into Durban on Friday morning... Boom

Added oil and still was not working. Turns out the oil level sensor thingy magick was dead. Spent most of Saturday looking for the parts and a mechanic shop that was open because AUDI wanted both lungs, kidneys and retinas to fix that.

Was only sorted on Sunday morning and by then I was either too drunk to drive or remember TLGP..

But its going to happen

Is there anything sadder than an AUDI on a flat bed... sigh :blueCry:

The Audi decided to eat its own water pump. In usual warranty claims fashion, M-Sure started throwing me from pillar to post in an effort I assume to not pay out.

3 days later and many many phone calls after they finally opened the wallet to the tune of R16k for a water pump, front timing cover and crank case breather valve. (not bad)

Car was a mess during that claims period.

Went back in again for small oil leak which turned out to be a seal. Now she is back like she never left...

That sucks. Glad you have it running again.

At what mileage did this happen?

Been considering getting rid of the A4 for a second F10. Only time will tell...

Happened at exactly 146kkm.

To be fair, my car is used more than what a standard A4 is probably meant for. There were some changes at work that put me in a position that requires a lot of driving and I am hitting around 5kkm a month or so.

Those parts should've been changed before that as preventative measures.

I will find a preventative maintenance guide and forward it to you

The Vorsprung has developed a new problem that I can't quite understand.

Vehicle: A4 B8.5 1.8T Multitronic (CVT).

Under acceleration, it shudders when it reaches around 2000 - 3000 rpm when driving in Auto. I can drive the car gently the whole day and it won't misbehave but the minute I need more power eg; for those in the Wesrand you will know 14th Ave incline towards Ontdekkers Road past Flora Clinic. I won't make it past Ford without changing to manual.

If I slide the lever to manual to change gears I don't have that issue, It will run like everything is normal as long as I remember to change gear.

This happens throughout all the gears and its worse in 7 - 8 as it feels like the car is underpowered even with the foot flat down.

No CEL, Nothing on the VCDS and there is nothing "wrong" with the car from a visual inspection eg: CVs, Tires, Tire-Balancing etc and its not misfiring either.

It idles normal, in Neutral I can rev it to almost 4000rpm before the software limiter comes in and it doesn't cut out or anything.

Thoughts, comments?

Edit: I have been on the google streets and it seems to be a common issue but there seems to not be one solution for it. The entire car vibrates, its not something I am feeling from the steering only or in my seat. The whole cars jerks about when it happens
