Nice looking car you have man, congrats on the car and wishing you many happy miles

Lol thanks man. Right about my profession, wrong about the company tho. And not sales, but repairs to production equipment.

Only quiet parking I could find to get a few pics

But yeah. Thanks for the review and the compliments, I think

Howzit guys.

I need some input before I screw everything up.

My car has gotten to the point now where im happy with the maintenance, and I've started thinking about doing a dp. This is were the confusion comes in. I've scratched around but honestly haven't found a clear answer.

I had my engine bay stripped up the other day for it's bi weekly cleaning and somehow realised that I have no oxygen sensors, or any sensors for that matter on my dpf.

This raises the question. . . Do I still need to get a map done straight after the dp or will it be good to go until funds appear for that. Or do I still need dp and software done same time?

If I only do the dp and no software, what happens when the car does a Regen? Sorry for the daft questions, just dont want issues. . .

Next thing, while I get the dp done. . . What else can I do to sort the tractor noise out? Not a big fan of the hollow revving in sport mode, sounds like a learner in an atos or something. . .

Looking to do all this now as I've done the 10000 km ( yes 6 weeks) since I've had it and I think it's time for some personal touches. . Plus service at the same time.

Last question. . . Anybody know where I can get the bottom engine cover, and the one cover in the boot(covering the stock amp) dealers here don't seem interested and so far I can only find one 330i in pmb at the scrappers, not a great fan of scrappers anyways as it just feels wrong.

Anyways. Thanks guys. All input welcome.

Have a good one

Most 320ds after mid-2010 did not have )2 sensor on the DP, so you can do DP and have no issues with needing software immediately, you can however get very happy once you put it on as the 2 make a good pair for mods.

Your car will have the deCAT removed so no need to worry about regen afterwards as the car will pick up all is good. Mine was done, ,my car was stock with DP (decat removed and no sensor issues) and mine was a 2010 model.

Is it recommended to leave the dumpy exhaust pipe there after the dp? As I was planning a twin tailpiece as well?

Thanks man.

Much appreciated

To do dp will only sort the tractor noise when you accelerate.
Do dp and sw same time. Jump in power is big and you'll enjoy it more.

Cornel, you sir need a drink.

Was looking at your cab last night, and the sound clips you had on, just perfect. Don't know how you managed that sound but it's just a huge difference in the overall appearance of the car.

I wouldn't mind doing the software now but cost factors envolved this month is just a bit behind. Pmb don't have many people that know a lot and it's a mission to get somebody to do what you want done, and done perfectly.

Thanks for the input

I have an '08 320d- did the dp initially- no errors/ lights after the dp only.. so you should be good. But the yearning for software will kick in hard and fast!

Do DP and leave dumpy tailpiece till you find something nice and do your software first.

you will love us once your software is done, also with dumpy tailpiece, car has a nice turbo sound once DP is done, even better once software is added.

JUST REMEMER: don;t do y-piece double tailpiece cause it will sound like a VeloCiti. Add y-piece near rear axle and run single pipe to each tail-piece and it sound boss!

Mine was like that after 4 different designs but it had a BARK on start up, nice and loud!

What does it cost to do a DP and SW through RK Motion?

You need to get software cost, the DP is done by one of the fitment centers in Randburg. Call Keithan and speak to him, he will give you the relative info.

Lol I'll have a Lion tonight. Watch out RK Group:roflol:

Thanks sir. Look I stay in Kuruman. That's 560odd km away. But I don't mind driving that far since he really knows how to tune diesels. He really takes his time to get you sorted till you happy!
Combination between my tuner and the exhaust shop!

I understand cost but then do your DP and then SW. Or if you want to, do SW and then DP. I had SW on my car think for 2 months or 3 months then I add DP and RK.

Allright so if that's the way, I didn't have an issue. Found a nice tailpiece that I think would do good but it's a 1 into 2 at the tailpiece. So would that be a no go? Considering I have the non msport so only one port at the back. . Don't really wanna keep the dumpy as I know it's there and it just feels like somebody stuck a vacuum floor tool on the back.

Thanks for the input.

Thanks all!
