Am i being too optimistic

Howdy folks,

I've been looking for an 80s BMW, E28 or E30 even checked out a few e23s,
which I'd like to use to commute to work and back everyday, which is a whopping 6km return trip.

I thought I'd be able to find a decent 4-pot one for around R25k, seems I was a bit optimistic regarding the condition of the cars I could get within my budget.

Is it impossible to find a clean 4 cylinder e28 or e30 for under R30k?

Quite right, they're selling for more than their E36 and E46 counterparts.

hmmm, I should point out that one the reasons I'm looking for 4-banger is for better fuel economy, my car's getting 20l/100km in traffic.

Mint E46 M3 or a tatty E30 325i, a tough choice I'm glad I don't have to make.

Also went to check as I thought it would be the rare convertible that never came to SA, but it is the normal Cabriolet. Price is out there :biglol:
