Dear Bmw fanatics
After unsuccessful search for an e46 bmw convertible i started to look for a decent e92/93 bmw convertible. I found a decent e92 2007 335! model with low km and a 2012 bmw 330i, bmw. The 2012 is R70000 more then the 2007 model. What will your advise be what car to choose. Tbe convertible will be my second weekend car. Regards

Mileage
Specs
FSH
Preventative maintenance
All these will become determinant..
Both of the cars has fsh. The 2007 335 have 110 km and the 2012 330i have 115000 km. Unfortunately none of preventative maintenance was done yet one both of the cars. Only the required services was done.

335i more fun with N54 engine with turbos, with more money to spend..

330i still fun naturally aspirated, but not at 335i level with less to spend on maintenence..

Fuel expense won't be much of a difference..

I say go drive them both, back2back if you can and decide..

Since you're not going to daily it, I see no reason not to go 335i, if the car checks out, performance wise

But, the facelift lights look really nice compared to the pre-facelift, especially at the rear.

I’d choose the LCI version
It’s a cabriolet, was never meant to be a hot hatch.....they are heavy in nature, just cruise and enjoy the scenery with the roof down.

If you want a fast car, choose something else, maybe a coupe version of 335i

There has been less issues documented with the 330i vs the 335i.

With Pre LCI, at some point the LCI bug will hit you then you start the upgrade on the side (retrofitting LCI parts on the car, some of lucky is plug and play, if unlucky it’s a pitta....different harness, coding, etc. Avoid if you can)

Current market is shit if you want to buy a car.

Prices are high, stock seems to be low. Dealers are pushing for higher prices as with the lower interest rates the monthly repayments workout to around the same compared to lower price with higher interest rate. They know majority of buyers are interested in the monthly repayments and not the sale price of the vehicle itself.

I totally agree with you. There is not alot of stock on the market currently and dealers know there is alot of interest in he 335i and the 330i cars now currently

Between the two options i would choose the 330i.

But as suggested before. Test drive both and then decide.
