Advice - Buying a 5 series

After lots of thinking and looking and testing and thinking some more I seem to be drawn more and more to the current 5 series range. I'm seriously considering one at the moment but am hesitant because lots of people keep telling me about very poor trade in values over time.

Question to you guys is whether I'll be in for pain if I buy a 2013 demo and keep it for 2 years. Is the depreciation and trade/retail likely to cripple me when it comes time to sell?

FYI - The 5 with M Sport pack and 20's has me drooling non stop... :inlove::inlove::inlove:

I looked up values on a 2011 523i M SPORT A/T (F10) to get an idea.
New 545k, trade 384k
Difference 161k =~ 30%

So roughly what it will cost you would be about that same ratio of 30% on the new price, minus what you save by buying a demo, plus any finance costs (the interest).

You'll probably find that if you finance it with a minimal/no deposit over 54 months or so this cost will be pretty much the same as your monthly payments. On 450k (retail on a 2012) at 8.5% with no deposit/extras those payments are 10k/month.

Whether it would cripple you or not I can't say because I don't know your personal finances.

Why would you plan to trade/sell in 2 years? That's generally going to cost more.

Thanks a million for the info. I have a really nasty habit of keeping cars for 2 years before something else catches my eye. I generally try to be in a position where my trade covers whatever I owe on the finance agreement, hence the question.

Would you be able to share trade/retail values on a 2012 520d and 535d with Sportspack also?
