Aaaand an update.
I've found a reputable guy that will mend it for 4.5k. So 2.5k from the drunk and another 2k from me and no insurance and I keep my 3yr no-claim status. Phew.

And something funny - when driving up my garage ramp you make a blind right turn at the top. I kid you not I almost had the same dewd on my windscreen on Saturday. He was cornering enthusiastically, in my 'lane' on his moped. Imagine. :flyfun::bangdesk:
