AC/Heater not blowing

My 540 AC/Heater fan just stopped blowing. Anybody encountered this before or have an idea what it could be (apart from a dead rat?).

Try check the final stage resistor.....

Where could that be located?

Check your fuses . Google for help on "e39 final stage resistor ( hedgehog ) " ....:rollsmile:
Your final stage resistor will take a bit of work to replace ....

It's a real pain to replace. Behind the centre console

Replace resistor that control fan speed,there are two types,old is called sword resistor,cost roughly R150 scrapyard,dealer R450

same happened on my e90. and then when I googled that it turned out to be a common problem. on mine the fan had to be replaced and it was a few grand, luckily garage paid...it was a month after i bought the car
