Seeing that the E90 is almost at the end of it's production cycle, it's interesting to see the new engines launched recently in the facelifted C Class. I'm sure the new 3 is going to give it a run for it's money, but for now, some pretty impressive numbers from Merc.
Some high level numbers on some of the engines (from Merc SA's site):
Diesel: C350CDI - V6
195KW/3800
620NM/1600–2400
Diesel: C250CDI - R4
150KW/4200
500NM/1600–1800
Both these diesels make the current 320d/330d look a bit cough, cough, underpowered, cough, cough - yes, it will be fixed in the new 3, but for now Merc is ahead of the "Diesel" game.
Yes, you don't need to remind me that the 3 series is dynamically better, blah, blah. Just pointing out that the competition has some nice engines too.... until the next 3 series comes along and ups the game once more.
