Hey everyone,
Very new to BMW as I never really looked at them. Im looking at either a 3 series, (probably F30 and an i model not diesel). My budget is about 250-290k though the lower the better. Im looking at this model specifically because of my budget plus Im trying to get a BMW with a slightly more aggressive grille or look. Ive found the older base models look rounder.

What is the engine in the 2 series in the title like? Im not sure what engines are considered "good" or bad? What are some common issues or pitfalls I need to worry about because most vehicles seem to be in the range of 100,000km mileage

Stay far away man.

These guys are usually foreigners who fix up cars that have been written off.
I've had my fair share of dealings with them and every single car I viewed was busted.

A good way to tell if its one of 'those' cars is to search for it on Facebook marketplace and then see how many different 'dealers' are selling the same car.
Also, these 'dealers' all use a personalized plate on the car

Proper dealerships, yes. But even they too don't disclose a lot.
Have a look at this post discussing what the dealers missed.
Best bet, is to find one from a fanatic member.

My family has always had diesel BMW's. The powertrains are very reliable.

Be careful with places like WBC. They push a huge amount of stock, quality is often not what you'd expect.
