98 E36 328i doesn't crank the engine

I have a 1998 328I that was involved in an accident and was taken to the mechanics for panel beating, they did the body and I'm happy with it but the car won't crank, all it does is switch on and that's it.

The cars was hit on the left fender and they had to do the cut and join and its done, so I don't know what to do as they said it needed the key programme but it didn't help.

I need help please

Does the key disengage the immobilizer? If it does maybe, check ur ignition. Are all the connections to the starter motor sound?

The mechanic said it does disengage the immobilizer and the starter connections are fine as he never tempered with them, the only thing he had disconnected was the fuse box as he had to cut and join on its position.

Had a similar non starting issue about 3 weeks ago. Full ignition lights and everything but when i turned the key to start... nothing!
My issue turned out to be a 5amp fuse for the immobilizer which had gone to fuse heaven. It very difficult to see at a quick glance because the wire is so thin.

Another immobilizer fuse related symptom mine had was that even with all ignition lights on, the interior fan wouldnt turn on.aybe check to see if yours is doing the same

What sort of accident? I think the engine may be ceased

It was on the cross road, at the roborts while the other car jumped a red robort, he knocked me on the left fender
