Monag, the guys at Combined Electronics in Cape Town (Plattekloof) are able to fix your missing pixels. Cost about R2000 was what they quoted me a few months back. Did not do it though, could still read most of the figures. They are able to fix most of the electrical problems on the BMW's like radios/cd changers, ABS modules, etc. They are not cheap but at least they know what they are doing. Can also chiptune diesels (they are agents for Superchips UK)

Thanks Solo Man. I ordered a new ribbon and I'm going to give mine a go on my own. I hope all goes well. If I come right, who knows, I may be able to help out in the jhb area.
