Haven't gone through every comment but in my opinion, I've grown to love the diesel BMW's, I have an E90 320i LCi and I know your struggle. The 335i is a beast of a car that gives immense fun and that's why I love it but having power figures questionable from a diesel car is my type of thing. I have an E53 X5 3.0D it has the odd 170kw and 500nm. That car is honestly the most fun thing I've ever been in that's not a racecar. A simple 50% of the throttle gets you pulled into the seat, 75% throttle seems like you're flooring it but then you have 25% more! Best part about the diesels are the consumption the 10 year old high mileage X5 averages 10.5/100km and a tank gets us around 900km. I shit you not. Anyway enough about that I say if you want good consumption + decent power + reliability , get the 330D but if you want a weekend joyride then 335i it is! I have never seen a 335i with low consumption and that's not because they are heavy it's because the drivers fall deeply in love with the feeling of the car after it reaches peak boost. For that reason alone the 335i is more of a weekend car than a daily for me.
