I always thought people who drive 335i's pretty much do it for the love of the raw power it delivers, with little regard for consumption. Or, more plainly put, if one could afford such a car, consumption matters little.

Guess I was wrong. :fencelook:

Must say though, after reading this thread I love my 320d even more.

I managed 8.8 on the way to durb's using the cruise control and having no choice but sticking to the speed limit , it was actually 8.6 as I got to Marion hill plaza but some spirited driving bumped the consumption up a little

Lol I might look like a durbanite, but I'm Jhb born and bred!
It's the first time I took the car down to the coast ! Amazing how well she responded to the ocean air....

8.1l/100km from Vryheid to PMB.
Speeds between 120-140km/h
It did take a half hour longer than the usual though.

You should try a carbon clean from George
You get under 6l/ 100km from for sure

under 6l/100 with a 335 @ 120-140? That is way below the factory claimed consumption. Are you sure?

Oh and mine is the Auto box.

THe F 30 335i sports auto

- about 8.3l/100km in peak traffic to jhb cbd on the M1 , a 35km trip {eco-Pro mode}

- same road leaving cbd at 14.00 , traffic free flowing and sped set to 100km /hr

I get 5l/100km {eco-pro}

My tank gives me around 750 km driving in a conservative fashion. Foot down I'm prob getting around 400-500km (Sports mode).

On average, my fuel bill is less then when I had my golf 5 gti dsg , that beastie used to drink fuel like its happy hour.

Due to speeding fines, an excessive speeding offence etc I'm well behaved on the roads these days :) Rather leave hard driving to Zwartkops IMO.

I've heard the F 30 320d gives something like 3l/100km in eco-pro on a open road

I average on 7.6km/l in town with my stock E90 Auto. No idea what to expect on the open road. All the web sites I've checked before I bought the car talked about between 9km/l and 10km/l in town....I have never seen that on mine

I am taking mine to Margate for the first time on the weekend. Lets see what mine does? I have normally got good figures on open road, its town driving that kills the consumption. Best so far was my wife, 4 return trips to JHB from Vereeniging over 4 days she got just over 800km on a tank!!

I just replaced plugs and a oil change, fresh ocean air air can only improve matters....

I work 4kms from my house. I get around 300 - 330 kms off a tank.

If I go to clients and do some highway driving, I get around 380 - 400 kms.

Long distance, I get around 650km of a tank

I have a E92 335 Manual

Good thread MOO5E and hope u enjoying the ride. Comparing my 335 Coupe Auto with 19" tires vs my previous E90 325i Manual

- 335i (425km with 80% city driving), with 325i it was 520kms
- I did JHB - Durban and got 700kms, 325i was almost the same

With city driving, the 335i Auto seems much higher than my previous E90 325i Manual. On open road, the difference has not been that much.

Thanks bud, enjoying the ride :excited:

So I guess my consumption is normal then, on the open road it's economical but it seems thirsty in the city..... I guess that's the price you pay for the sheer driving pleasure lol

Hi Guys
Also just got an E92 335i Auto....so far so good...had a VW Golf 5 gti previously and that ride was thirsty....but hey....these pony's have to drink too

So we just completed trip to Margate.

Trip down, 2 adults, my 2 kids and FULL boot. 120-130km/ph mostly with speedo cruise. 8.4L/100km.

I returned home with the help of some Fanatics and left my car for my wife to return alone with the kids.

She arrived yesterday, Margate to Vereeniging 2 kids and full luggage. She ave 7.9l/100km, so we can gather I am the weight behind the full consumption , all 87kg of me.

But I think excellent figures both ways, actually lighter on fuel than the 2.0l mazda 5 which did it at 9.7l/100.

My 3 fill ups since I got the 335i
Tank 1 = 14.3l/100km
Tank 2 = 16.0l/100km :nonono:
Tank 3 = 12.3l/100km

Tank 2 I blame BMW. Car was in for two days with some issues I had. They must have thrashed the car during their "tests".

Tank 3 was done with holiday traffic i.e. minimal traffic during peak hours and more freeway driving than I normally do. So it's the stop and go 1st gear driving that kills consumption.

They definitely abuse our cars. Mine went from 12.9 to 14.6 because of those asshole BMW mechanics.

335 in Eco pro mode? I've tried that but can't handle the sluggishness [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Hahaha.
no way. You dont buy any turbocharged 6l for fuel consumption. I see the needle going down and think of the power I feel... Dont care about the needle no more...:roflol::roflol::roflol::roflol:
