Thread resurrection :sorry:

So I've had my E90 N54 335i auto for just over a week now and my consumption is sitting at 14.8l/100km:cry:

I do about 60km daily all in traffic, no freeway. I friggen drive like I am driving Ms Daisy. Either there is something terribly wrong with my driving style and I am driving too slow , or there is something wrong with the car. I can't see how guys are getting under 12.

The car does idle a bit rough when started from cold and if it is warmed up and idling at a traffic light I think I am hearing and feeling a bit of a miss. Think I must check whether the car has been for all the recalls especially the injectors.

Mine's also sitting comfortably at 14.7l/100km. I love the car but this is insane considering I only push it once a week on average.

I dont own one....yet :)...but I reckon you should look into the carbon cleaning offered by carbon doctor. Just read kish's post regarding this and his consumption figures seems great.

Bud, when I also got my n54 I thought the plugs were toast with that mis you talk of, but it seems its an n54 trait, it's almost like the engine shivers for a fraction if a second...

I use to get in the region of 500kms on my e90 325 doing mainly urban driving. I think the auto gearbox has a lot to do with the higher consumption.

Eager to hear what the F30 guys are getting on their tanks?

Yep, shiver sounds about right.

With the amount of mileage I do this will mean an extra tank a month compared to the 320i I had. For the level of enjoyment I get it is a small price to pay.

Ditto on what Singh001 said, have a look at George's year end special, it's at a price that will not be repeated and lower than the group buys that have been arranged before...

on my 435 i got 380km on a full tank but the car is still new. That was with some spirited driving as well. on my second full tank and im looking around 480 - 520km this tank.

Consumption is dropping everyday, right now its at 16.1 from the 27 L/100km when i first got the car

Mine is at 11.5 right now because it's been recently reset and includes some insanely high speed runs and horrific bumper to bumper traffic. but averages at about 11. However I do a fair bit of highway driving combined with some very spirited driving.

11.5 :praise: I struggled to get that with my E90 320i

I would love to do the carbon thing but will have to wait for the next time it is done in Cape Town.

BMW loaned me a 320i 2 years ago and I averaged 12.1 :bangdesk:

I average 12l/100km but if I behave I can get 11's.
Long distance it should go right down to 9l/100km or even less.

I managed 8.8 on the way to durb's using the cruise control and having no choice but sticking to the speed limit , it was actually 8.6 as I got to Marion hill plaza but some spirited driving bumped the consumption up a little

Guys please state your x35's transmission type, i.e. Manual/Lazy Auto/ DCT. We need to find the money bleeding culprit, which I suspect is the lazy auto.
