I don't have much of a choice, bit I'll see if I can organise another car to use tomorrow. I've ordered the new regulator and it should be here tomorrow hopefully. I'll fit it and take it from there.

Boom! Issue resolved! Took me 35minutes to remove the alternator, replace the regulator and re-fit everything. Car is running so well now!

Finally.....no one deserves the trauma this car has given you. From now on it must behave so u can enjoy it to the fullest.

Thanks guys, I am really enjoying the car and I'm glad I've been forced to learn the ins ans outs of the E90 platform and the M57 motor. I can basically do everything on the car myself now.

I bought solid rubber lower control arm bushes and will be fitting them this weekend

I'll make a plan to get it from you Gert, I'll message you again.

Andy I'm glad I could contribute! Always a good feeling to fix it yourself for a fraction of the cost of having some other guy do it for you.

Great news martin. Like andy said the forum is an asset in terms of information.

I seem to be having less luck with my touran on the VWclub forum, technical questions dont get near as much feedback as i do here. I probably might be more answers about my VW here than there....lol
