Those figures are awesome but I hate dynos cos one set's it for turbo charged while another sets it for petrol. Some use 29-30% , others 18-20%, some 3rd gear others 4th.....

The HM dyno has a weather station so their results are pretty accurate, but I'm gonna take the car to FR&RT and see if it breaks 200. I know it can do 200 :p

the best dyno is the one on the seat.... :crazylaugh:
The problem with my butt dyno is that my car feels slow lol. I need to organise the EGR thermostat as well. Should get my average consumption to drop below 8l/100km.

Also got a price from Ashley at GW Delarey - R335 for the EGR thermostat, so I'll be collecting that and fitting it on Friday. Car should then get up to operating temp at long last!

Yeah we need to find a way to remove the EGR altogether from our cars. The only thing that I can think of is the cooling pipes that will be an issue. We need to either get new coolant pipes or connect then together. We can get blanking plates for the exhaust manifold which is the easy part..

I'm usually against EGR deletes, but that is because on the VAG TDI's there is a anti-shudder butterfly that you can use to switch the engine off in a runaway situation. The BMW's don't have these so we may as well just delete the damn things. The blank off plates should be pretty easy to make/get, although like you said, the water pipes would need to be modified. The EGR thermostat is so unnecessary and the fact that a failing EGR thermostat can bypass/override the function of the main thermostat is pretty stupid to me.

Can't commit to that but will most likely meet up at the Zambezi event if you pop by :coolShake:

Okay sounds like a plan!

Update time!

I had a weird grey primer coloured paint on my grilles, so I bought some Rustoleum gloss black and sprayed the grilles. Will take pics when I fit them later.

And my tyres were finished, so I bought new wheels and tyres from Shaheen at The Wheel Shop - excellent service, and a friendly gentleman.

E60 M5 V10 reps in 18", 8.5J iirc all round, with Nexen 225/40/18's. The car rides so much better with these wheels and rubber. Road noise is very low now, and those very fine vibrations are also gone.

I think it looks really good, will probably need 15-20mm spacers at the rear though.

I am not happy with the way the grilles came out... Will have to sand it down and try another coat.

I'll have to sand the bonnet inserts down and try again. Donker werk is konkel werk... :bang:

Strange that only the one side went wonky... I washed and sanded them both down at the same time in the same manner. Must have something to do with the extra coat I applied to try and cover up the small pin holes that you can see on the other (better) bonnet insert.
