Has anyone successfully decatted an e90 320i in Cape Town?

I'm worried about the 2 post oxygen sensors. Will I need Cat foolers?

Cat foolers will cost around R1.5k... Remap R4k

I did the remap,....well Dastek Unichip piggyback and I still had to add cat foolers

If you remap take it to Dastek in Pretoria, they will offer the best price for installation and then take it to KAR performance to do a remap on the piggyback, as the guys at Dastek don't really do the mapping properly. ( can load some photo evidence tonight if you want)

Lol my bad forgot about that

We'll start with a Decat and Cat foolers....you will see gains but not great gains as the inboard ecu doesn't have such a great gain adjustment.

I'm not into power gains.
I think my cats is bad.

When i start the car in the mornings. all sounds fine, but as soon as I drive off with slight acceleration, the engine/ exhaust rattles for the 1st 2min until its warm

what do you think?

Mmmm, yeah that aint usually a sign of bad cats....its most likely a loose sensor on the exhaust or a connector thats come loose from its holder.

Had also a rattle like yours and discovered it was my post o2 sensor that was loose.

Yip , do yourself a favour, jack up your car and do a visual inspection (remove the bottom cover plate of course :p) and check/fell around.

Didnt completely come loose from the thread but that half a turn outwards started the rattling....until the engine/ exhaust gets hot enough.

I did check sensors today and all seems fine. Maybe I'll do a post later and see if other people has the same symptoms. I'm sure its a common issue on 320i,

The centre box/resenator inner baffels tend to do that. Just get yourself a nice big punch and hamer. Then on ech end give it a nice wack where yhe pipe starts. That should do

For me it sounds like the ratlle its coming from the right hand side of engine/ driver side. But i will check resonator box again.

decat on these cars is pointless unless the cat is damaged, unfortunately they are just really slow. Not sure what is causing the hesitation in the morning but def not the cat

What about a clogged up cat, you when you can smell it after driving the car? Smell like rotten eggs.

Technically it is not damaged, but it is not working optimally either.

Ah... Now I know what that funny smell is about, it's been bugging me for a while now, well, a long time actually.

I honestly just wanna decat mainly for the car to perform efficiently, within it's own limits of course. I'm under no illusions at all about the performance gains and the like (if any at all).

Would you still say, the decat is pointless in this case?
