320d vs 220d (coupe) vs 420d GC (all auto)

Hi, I think hideous is prob a too stronger of a word. It certainly looks much bulkier than the one it’s replacing and like most of the recent bmw models we need to give it a bit of time to grow on us. We can’t stand in the way of progress, if the manufacturers don’t take chances all the cars would look the same...:tiptoe:

Hi,

I have a mate keen on getting a 2017 220d coupe or a 420d GC.
I told him to rather go for an LCI F30 320d, given that he wants to start a family sometime, and the fact that a 320d can be picked up, used, at a much better price (and better specced) than a similar aged 220d or 420d GC.

Thoughts?

Anyway, he has decided on a used CLA200d (yes, the detuned MB 220d motor...)
