did some budgeting for the next 4-6 months and things are looking solid enough for us to do a R130 000 financing deal, at 17% that gives us R3270 over 48 months. (suggesting that if the next 4-6 months is fine, everything after that should be as well)

wife says she is happy to part with R4500 per month.

all that's left now is to find out if the bank agrees, we settling all our small debt (don't have any other debt) end of the month so hopefully that shows we are "credit worthy" for finance deal.

sense says go with a cheaper car or E46, but my heart says if we can afford the repayments, have some pocket money left AND still have a "slush fund" then a E90 330i is on the cards...

if bank disagrees and we have to finance lower I will then go with a 323i or 325i

On My E46 330i, i average around 10.6L/100km in very heavy traffic, average speed daily is 29.3km/h in a 40km round trip. What helps though is the shorter ratio diff and UniQ. On the open road I average 7.2L/100km to Durban from Johannesburg.

Hi Marcel

i just purchased a 320d pre facelift 08, from what i was told they are pretty reliable and give enough power for when you need it.

i drove mine from durban ( where i purchased the car ) to Cpt , used 1 and a half tank of diesal, had only one issue with an ABS light that kept coming on had it checked out but has since disappeared.

i to was looking for a 330i but the economy of the diesal is ssooooooooo goood.

really liking the 320d hope this assists with your purchase

You can find an immaculate 330i if you are patient.

Good luck bud:coolShake:

Took my previous E46 330i 2001 model also to cape town, auto it was and can I tell you this. It is where this car shines, long road, auto, cruise control. Man this was the best ever drive for me from PTA to CT and back. Loved it :blowheart:

And instead of the kilometers going down it was picking up when I got onto the highway, weird at first but hey. She is light ones you hit those cruising speeds.

Tank fuel gives me between 480 and 560km, depends on the right foot and those VW's :fencelook: and then the occasional 320d's

I drove from Bloem to Soweto gass station on half tank. Swear I could hear the car sniff the fuel when I got close to JHB :roflol:

330i.....silent but violent. For sure the consumption versus your Speedo n consumption always wins to empty but the tone n thrill of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Couldn't ask for anything better. Just do it Marcel :) I test drove the 320d n the 330i both e90 on the same day to get a feel. Diesel pulled away nice but the 330i gives u a bigger smile to red line not forgetting that in line 6 tone
