318ti Idle issues

HI Guys,

A friend of mine recently bought an E46 318ti, car is in reasonably good condition.

Just a small issue, the car has vibration when idling in park as well as in gear. :fencelook:

This vibration goes away on revving the engine / car in motion.

Any ideas what I could check to diagnose this?

Check the oil cap is turned down 100%
I did a oil service and my cap didnt seat and it developed a "miss".

Hmm the car was bought with the vibration, went for a service and came back with it still there :fencelook:

I was also thinking engine mounts,

Not 100% sure what the mileage is, approx 180k

Its an auto, how would I go about checking engine mountings?

Any reputable suspension place or mackie will be able to tell you.
Needs to go on a lift i would think.
get a few opinions as well.
