300km/h in 1km

So with the M6 V10 having hit a brick wall as far as the speed limiter goes my neighbour decided to get his bike on the go as this will not have the same problem.(speed limiter).
The decision was taken to mod only as far as 95 octane fuel will go as this bike is used for breakfast runs as well.
Bike completed we went to the track and the first runs and log have come out pretty decent.

60ft................2.69sec..............59km/h
1/8mile...........7.83sec.............191km/h
1/4mile..........11.11sec............243km/h

awesome stuff, was this the first time out...? If you need balls to do 300km/h in a car., what do you need to do it in a bike?

0-100km/h............4.25sec

That seems pretty slow to me. Is there a reason for this ?

Yes, the front wheel is up in the air in 1st and on the change to second at 93km/h you have to feather the throttle. Also remember the point is to keep this Hyabusa looking like the day it was manufactured with it's short wheel base.If you increase the wheel base it will be less likely to lift at the front but IMO will spoil the original looks. This is one of the first 1999 Hyabusa's.The weight of the rider also plays a huge part and in this case 122kg tends to tilt the bike backwards easier on accelleration. What i will agree with is the bike is a lot faster than the rider.
We will get one of the lighter riders to do a run at the track this weekend and see how those figures turn out.

Yes the 0-100km/h time says we are still wary of the 309 wheel horsepower.Don't want to become a statistic.Even as an acknowledged bike rider this is something else to get used to.

Ok...But ill have to disagree with you on the parts of spoiling the looks of a Busa... Its as ugly as a war wound, the only thing that makes it looks remotely better is a bike cover.

Makes sense, as my brother does 11.1 quarter mile with his 750GSXR. (Same as this bike)

Extensive wind tunnel testing went into the build of the Hayabusa, that explains the design, its purpose build.....to tear the skin of your ass underload
