Hi,
The new WRX is about to be officially launched in SA in both manual and CVT options. 2.4 flat turbo 4 pushes out 202kw and 350Nm. Pricing is TBC.
Just thinking if there is still a place for the Scooby in today's market place. Back in the 00s, the WRX (granted, the STi version) and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo dominated this segment - turbo 4 cylinder, compact sedan body, AWD.
Nowadays, we have the Audi S3, Merc A35 and BMW M235i that push out more power and have arguably better badges than the humble WRX. The new STi is yet to be confirmed, but it would go up against the RS3, A45S and M240i (okay, not a proper rival but close enough).
What are your thoughts on the new WRX? It does seem have a cross over look about it and seems to have higher ground clearance than its European rivals. Also it has the option of manual box that its rivals don't. But, I can't see many people rushing to get this car.
