Performance test results are disappointing...
I assume that CVT is to blame.
At this level of power/torque and being AWD, I would expect sub 6 secs.

Also attaching 330i test as a comparison.

Both tests at Gerotek, 1,400m above sea level.

Feels like Scooby aare stuck in the past to some extent. When the old early 2000s STIs came out with near 200kw from a 4cyl motor that was serious power. Nowadays the new A45AMG hs over 300kw in a 4pot from stock, insane power.

Added to that I think the rally driving heritage is less today, back in the day the WRX STI found its way onto raallying, do these still hit the dirt roads? Then there's the interior quality difference etc. etc.

An old bug eye is really special, eagle too, and of course the first gen impreza as well. But since they made it a hatch it's been pretty much nothing special (to me at least).

100% couldn't agree more.
1994 through to 2005/6/7 i would still call the Impreza a SUBARU. Thereafter, eish!

A mate of mine just got a peach of a Bugeye.

Bugeye STi's were the second lowest number of STI's sold in RSA. I think 20, of which at least 10 were written off.
So tell him to hold on to that beaut.
