Sorry to hear about all the issues with the car , at least you will enjoy it once all the problems sorted out .Until then just keep focused , deep breathe and try not to kill any mechanics .
Guys that sell cars like this ,should just be honest and up front if they aware of the problems so you know what you getting Yourself into. What happens if you didnt have the cash to sort out this problems , you would have spent over 200K to have your car sit in the garage and taxi to work not cool.

could take and age and I can't tell if they are the right size as I have no idea what size o-ring is on mine, I had no way to measure today.I am busy looking online and I see that all these blow off valves have a groove in them for the oring to sit and not escape....I don't have this groove, mine has a small lip that the BOV lip fits into and then a flat surface for the oring, which is why it must be a flat oring as anything else I put in there just ends up popping out the sides as soon as the clamp starts to tighten.
I can definitely fix this with a sheet of rubber from a tire tube. will make my own oring one time shoe shine that will last till Saturday for the new blow off valve. Sheesh I hate aftermarket stuff for this very reason! :blueCry:

Bmw quoted me R2500 for those inserts though. a scrap yard somewhere had them and they wanted 4.8k LOL and they did not want to negotiate the price even after telling them BMW is almost half there price.
Autostyling does sell a thick plastic honeycomb mesh that you could try use?

I actually think this idiot mechanic took my BOV off to swipe my spring and put a cheap spring in cause its very easy to push the spring loaded plate back with my fingers, and when I was checking at other BOV at the shop yesterday I seriously struggled to push those things in with my fingers. Maybe mine is so weak now that its leaking air through the BOV itself cause it cant hold any sort of pressure.

Take your BOV to an engineering shop, and ask them to machine a proper groove in it so it can take an O ring that you can buy off the shelf from a Hydraulic shop

There is an Engineering company just off Malibongwe on Langwa Street called Glutek Engineering, they assisted me with shaving the top of the Suspention strut nuts to make a slimline nut for me, didnt even charge me.

Give them a try, i dont know anyone there, was just a freak by chance visit as i was in the area and they helped me. maybe drop in with the part, and explain what youd like done.

Thanks for all the advice guys.
The problem with the BOV seems to now be gone since I just got back from buying another one and fitting it. The spring in mine is way way way too weak compared to all the other BOV on the shelf that I tried to push the spring loaded plate in. My BOV can be pushed in like a toy, so not only was it leaking due to the oring but that thing was not holding boost so it was leaking under pressure through the actual BOV. There is no way that thing can hold the pressure its supposed to.
My car is driving a hell of allot better now although I can still hear a bit of a boost leak however I am pretty certain that this is now coming from the corner elbow silicon hose from me taking the charge pipe off yesterday and refitting it myself and I couldn't get that clamp back in the exact same place so there is probably air leaking out of there too.
Going to buy the MHD monitor app and see if my car is reaching 8psi boost as it should with stock software which is has. if its not meeting those figures then its still leaking.

It makes me think, that oring, i wonder if due to the spring being too soft, that the BOV was opening way too early, and all that boost was rushing past the oring, so it nearly pushed it out, and deformed it. (Not to defend the mechanic), but just a theory. its possible, and ive seen it happen with aftermarket BOV's that have been opened. but its not to say that Mechanic is not at fault either. should oof been checked and thoroughly tested as part of his job and paid services.
Keen to see the car in tip top shape again.

Thing is I got the exact same sized oring and tried and tried and tried to fit it but no matter how hard I tried or how carefully I tightened that clamp it would push the oring out every single time, all the BOV's with a round oring have a seat for the oring to prevent that from happening where as mine is just flat so I can only imagine that it has to be a flat oring. Also the oring that I pulled out that was damage was still shiny black and fresh looking but had been clamped down hard and you can see where the lip of the BOV was biting into it.
The original BOV would have been faded and looked used at least.
The thing is that the day that I brought the car back to him to undo the clamp on the turbo that was blocking the actuator the BOV was working correctly and there was no boost leak sound, even though only one turbo was boosting it was still causing the car to dump which means there was enough pressure to hear the boost leak, when he moved the clamp and gave the car back to me the boost leak was there all of a sudden and it was LOUD, VERY loud. like a hell of a strong wind blowing through a building passageway with open windows. :skit:
The fact that the spring was so loose leads me to believe that he removed my BOV to take the spring, just like he took my brand new air filter and replaced it with something that looks 1 or 2 years old. I wish I had taken photos of all of this stuff.
Anyways this is slowly starting to rectify itself through blood sweat and tears. few more little hurdles and the car will be sorted
