Man, I dedicated 2 hours to read through your entire thread, and I must say this must have been the most character testing and building purchase!

I am so happy that I didn't buy any of the cars I tested from the forumites, the things I saw were just plain shocking in most cars, the typical lies as well (OMG!). Some cars were in good shape, not all were bad.

Anyways, you have opened up my eyes when it comes to car purchasing, fixing, dealing with mechanics.

I must applaud you though, your workmanship is brilliant, and God gave you a heart of gold, you have patience like non other!

as the other gents have already said, its great this car found you. How the previous owner lived with a car below 100 000km in the condition you found, is beyond me. (Copper wires, cable ties, bonnet latch, welding job done under the tree.....unbelievable)

Well to be honest I never thought I would take things this far with the car. There have been many times where I thought I would burn the car and walk away without looking back, All Gangsta like  imp: But The love for this car is definitely something else. 

So I was going to have the paint chips all fixed etc and then wrap it white. I spoke to a bunch of people about it and got talked out of wrapping it and decided to go all out and respray the car white. I went with the same white as E92 M3. Alpine white 3 as far as I remember.  Stripped paint down to the metal basically and stripped every panel from the car and did a proper job. No shortcuts taken.

Hmmm I'm not 100% sure of the legal hoops, but the car does need to be re-registered in this colour so I will get that done soon. I have left the engine bay colour black but that's about it. I didn't want to remove that much stuff from my car as it would probably never be the same again.

The workmanship is amazing though. BMW themselves thought it was a factory finish so that was good news
