Hi gents

I'm interested in buying the above mentioned car.

Are there any common issues I should I know about? the said car has 134K km's on the with full service history, looks as if the seller is quite meticulous.

Is there anything i need to look out for?

Your help is appreciated.

My dads car is on 180k km and still going strong.
Apart from regular service with quality parts nothing has been replaced since ownership

Is there any reason for looking at the 520d rather than the 530d.

I believe the 530d will be a better package.

I dont believe the 4 cylinder model diesel is the correct engine for that body.

Perhaps test a 530 d and decide from there.

Personally, if pricing is a consideration, Id rather look at en earlier model 530 d.

But if possible LCI, 2007 on, much nicer all round.

530d is a beast....

I recon the 520d will be enough for most people, remember, the E60 is a sub 1,600kg car.

Get a MSport :coolShake:

Guys, so I saw a 2010 520d with 93000km on the clock for R179k. So this is well cared for an FSH, and i drove the F10 520d and was more than impresed with the package of that car. the E60 i ahve sat in one during a drive but noe physically drove it but i can say it is awesome!

the E60 530d's are hard to come by with lower than 150k kms and in 'good; condition or they just don't have a good spec.

tbh fsh means nothing anymore

they book stampers

the 30d is a much better car than the 20d

but get the one with a better specced as somethings you wish you had, like heated seats and armrests

The 520d is actually a lively enough car. Its not the beast that my 530d is, but it holds its own. I test drove one when I was in the market... It depends what the vehicle is going to be used for really. If you're going to do alot of long distance then the 530d is ideal for overtaking ability/ease of the journey. The 520d will make a perfect daily driver

I also saw the 2010 520d with 93k on the clock. Very Well kept car.

I'll be using the car as a daily, i do quite a bit of urban driving hence th 20d feels like a better option.

I'd love a 530d but mileage is an issue as well as price point. I've looked at 320d'd]s but its hard finding one with an iDrive system.

So the 520d seems like the better option.

I Appreciate you input guys.

Thanks.

I've also just found a LCI E60 530d with 170 000 on the clock, is that worth it for a daily with that mileage?

Any of you driving that model currently? How is it?

I got my LCI 530d at 181k km in June last year. Sitting on 207k km. At this mileage your suspension probably will need some attention. I did a front suspension refresh at 11.5k. Other than that she's been flawless. Hasn't missed a beat. Use her every day.

I bought my e60 lci 530d on 118k, currently on 173k, I did more preventative maintenance than replacements. Am driving it daily since last year, previously was just the odd day and weekends.

As Rob mentioned already, you will probably do suspension if it hasn't been done already. Vibration pulley should also be replaced, if not already.

I went through your thread, absolutely love what youve done with your car.

How much does that procedure cost?
