Hi Guys
Just need advice on whether anyone knows whats the most cost effective way to replace or repair and whether anyone locally does refurbish them .

OEM price for these parts are a little out of budget at this stage.
anyone out there selling repair kits locally ?

Hi,

I've recently done the actuators on my car. I imported a kit from the states.

Is your car throwing any fault codes yet? OR are you planning to get it done as preventative maintenance?

If your car has thrown codes then you possibly have board damage. I would replace those units with new units.

If there aren't any codes then you may be able to do the brass gear upgrade before there is any damage on the board. You can chat to @peter@aew. He will be able to assist with the kit and if you are in JHB he can refurb and refit for you.

The part could fail again though.

I see FCPeuro offer lifetime warranties on their parts. I would consider using them, but bringing the part in could be expensive.

Hi
the car has thrown codes, went into Limp mode yesterday couldnt rev up over 1000rpm , continued revving it ,eventually it revved up.

second occurrence of this issue in 3 months.
Initially i thought that my low battery warnings were the cause of it, the low battery warnings i've had since i purchased the car.

No matter how much i drive it the low battery warning always occurs.
yesterday when it occurred i realised it must be the actuators as those were previously diagnosed as the issue.

If your car is throwing the codes already, then the bad news is that you may be in for new actuators. Speak to ABM to get favorable pricing.

On the battery issue, any idea how old the battery is?

I have the car 18 Months.
not sure how old the battery is , but i was in the process of selling the car, i have put the sale on hold as i cannot sell the car in its current state.

the new owner made a price with all current minor issues which includes the battery. this agreement was made before the actuator fault occurred last night so now i have to hold onto it till its sorted.

will scan the car again and share the codes later on.

Get codes read and see from there. Actuators when faulty tend to make revs ‘hunt’ a little when car is idling.

thanks mines cuts out on random occasions prior to last night it happened once three months ago, like after the rev came right yesterday the car is fine today however its parked off as i don't trust it, and i can never sell it to any1 in the current state.

the code its throwing is P0339
Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit intermittent.

on another app there was a P27A9 as well as the P0339 however no description for P27A9.

all online posts point to the Throttle actuator.

was also just wondering , if the battery is acting up can it not affect the actuator functionality as well, i dont want to end up spending the money for no reason, im going to first check the battery and make sure that its healthy to rule it out.
