Seeing as the car is pretty close to its next due service, Divio asked if I could do an oil service for him today, I obliged.

Dusty engine bay!


Draining oil.




Changing out the old oil filter, looks to be an OEM one but the markings are worn off. New OEM one going back in.


Air filter was a cheap no-name brand one, new OEM one going in.


Filling with new oil.


Reset the service indicator.


Finish the job by cleaning the engine bay.

Divio dropped his car off on Thursday evening with some parts he ordered from the agents which he requested I install for him.



Z4M shifter next to stock 325ci shifter.


Z4M shifter modified for the E46 kink.



Installed.



New knob installed.

What grease is it that BMW uses on the plastic joints?

I've been using silicone grease, but that's clear.

Warren - Is there another shifter from the BMW parts catalog that is the same length above the ball (so it sits the same inside the car), but is as long as the Z4 item below the ball? (so you get the shorter throw)

Divio dropped off the car on Sunday evening so I could install the Powerflex diff bushes he ordered from Moranor@axis.

the e46 'clunk' has gone softer from what I observed last night and this morning..........

Let's hope a new propshaft is still not needed .... will know in a couple of days...
