Start with the easy bit.

Done!

Now for the clutch job, getting stuff out the way.

Then I spotted 2 missing bolts on the gearbox, same 2 bolts that were missing on AdiS M3...Hmm, I guess Tjoon Tek gets their "aapies" from the same place...

Gearbox out and seriously filthy! Will get a major clean.

Notice the lack of copper grease on the thrust bearing.

Selector shaft seal will be replaced before the gearbox goes back on.

Old clutch and flywheel removed, rear main seal still in good condition.

Old dual mass flywheel still has BMW branding on it and by the amount of play in it, it wouldn't surprise me if it were still the original DMF. The clutch Tjoon Tek fitted October last year looks a little small, no wonder its already slipping...

Ahh ok, they fitted the cheaper and smaller 318i clutch to the car!

As you can see both clutch plates are 228mm overall diameter but the 325i one has 6mm more friction surface area.

Both 318i and 325i share the same pressure plates.

New DMF installed and torqued.

New clutch installed and torqued.

Feel let down on the 318 clutch :-(
No wonder it lasted like 6 months....

She's in good Hands

Gearbox cleaned up.

Cross member and shifter linkages cleaned up.

New parts and extras for my stock levels.

Old selector shaft seal removed.

New seal fitted.

Short shifter install, 325i vs 328i.

Missing bolt replaced.

Other missing bolt replaced.

All back together.

Finish off with a diagnostic.

After clearing the faults, one remains.

Now to wait for lunchtime so its warm enough outside to wash the car.:ty:

One last thing, the windshield washer pump doesn't work. Tjoon Tek fitted an aftermarket pump less than a year ago but cut the original plug off and fitted crimp lugs to the wires and didn't bother insulating them, seeing as the pump lasted less than a year it was best to replace it with an OEM part.

I got a replacement plug from the scrapyard and a new OEM pump from the agents.

Cut off the crimps and soldered and heat-shrinked the replacement plug onto the wires.

New pump installed, works like a charm!

Nice work Gizmo :clapper: Those missing bolts seems to be from a very awkward space so I suppose the other mechs didn't want to bother with that hey?
