Now for the clutch job, getting stuff out the way.
Then I spotted 2 missing bolts on the gearbox, same 2 bolts that were missing on AdiS M3...Hmm, I guess Tjoon Tek gets their "aapies" from the same place...
Gearbox out and seriously filthy! Will get a major clean.
Notice the lack of copper grease on the thrust bearing.
Selector shaft seal will be replaced before the gearbox goes back on.
Old clutch and flywheel removed, rear main seal still in good condition.
Old dual mass flywheel still has BMW branding on it and by the amount of play in it, it wouldn't surprise me if it were still the original DMF. The clutch Tjoon Tek fitted October last year looks a little small, no wonder its already slipping...
Ahh ok, they fitted the cheaper and smaller 318i clutch to the car!
As you can see both clutch plates are 228mm overall diameter but the 325i one has 6mm more friction surface area.
Both 318i and 325i share the same pressure plates.
New DMF installed and torqued.
New clutch installed and torqued.
Done!
