2003 Titan Silver M3

This customer has come a very long way to have his car worked on, I feel honoured in the fact that he drove a long way and selected me to carry the work out for him. So lets get started!

Front discs were fitted by a dyslexic.

All looks fine under the hood.

Interior in good shape.

Mileage relatively low.

Diff has been leaking for a very long time.

Broken front exhaust hanger. Other missing a nut.

Pressure valve leaking.

Rear camber arm plastic shield is on backwards.

Cheap-ass "Metelli" pads.

Strip-down to remove diff. Exhaust nuts were a mix-match of imperial and metric sizes, unlucky for me as I don't own imperial size sockets and spanners, had to borrow my dad's ones.

Guibo was replaced around 2008/2009 me thinks.

Diff out.

Lots of cleaning to do...

Diff off the Budler Motorsport for reconditioning.

Car looks good, I have a feeling that this is the one from Dbn, going to Ctn via Jhb .

Can you tell us what's involved with reconditioning the Diff and when it needs to be done ?

Titan Silver is a spectacular colour for the E46 M3 and it really brings out the design, to me they are even better looking now than when they came out.

I am so glad your customer brought his new acquisition to you to get all these issues sorted out! It is amazing how some ex-M3 owners skimp so badly on these gems and/or allow retards (unlike guys like yourself and Peter) to "work" on them. But she is good hands now, so hopefully all these ugly issues are well on the way to being sorted out. Otherwise she looks like a gem in the making!

No doubt Gizmo will sort this car out, but a real shame to once again see cheap parts fitted and some incorrectly fitted... paying Top rates at large garages don't mean crap... DIY and guys like Gizmo and Peter are the way to go, for sure... threads like these will ensure customer networks to grow.

And how did you draw that conclusion? :tiptoe:

I'm honestly glad this car is in such good hands, would be a shame to have seen it deteriorate. Something special about this car :blowheart:

Nice.

Does Butler rebuild diffs himself, or does he send it off to some gear shop?

Does he specialize only on BMW diffs, or can he do other brands as well?

Hey Gizmo. I heard the fresh ocean breeze does wonders for health. Think you should move down to CPT.
