So I ended up buying the silver one that was for sale in the classifieds section.
Will post some pics a bit later.

Would like to do an oil change and also get a quote on a fix for the noisy lifters, vanos seals (if needed) and maybe a refresh of the cooling system.
Will have a look at suspension and bushes towards the end of the year.
Who do I speak to for the above? Im based in centurion.

I also started wrapping the wood trim in some dark grey metallic vinyl I had lying around. Looks good, but think its a tad too dark. Will have look at a lighter option, maybe a brushed alu finish vinyl will look much better.
At the moment just 3 panels have been done, still need to do the radio cover and centre console and doors.

Stunning stunning stunning! :bravo::inlove::praise:

M-sport touring is becoming a rare item.

Please do post up a DIY and pics of the trim wrapping as I want to have mine done as well. Was thinking of going piano black, or anthracite. Also don't know if I should spray or wrap. In two minds.

Speak to Moranor for supplies on the suspension

Ups to you for buying a stunning E39

Now where's the twit who actually sold it? :bat:

Only kidding. Glad she's in the Fanatics family.

Lol will do
pretty easy if you take your time and have a heat gun
Just dont be hasty and try and remove the trim without getting a trim removal kit :fencelook:

Ill upload a pic later of the trim - its quite a dark grey, perhaps what you looking for....

So it seems the auto box may be problematic.... :thumbdo:
When driving hard, ie flat foot in sports mode it will be fine for a while then all of a sudden, it will go into what I will describe as a limp mode - will struggle to rev and becomes very sluggish. Turn the car off and back on again then its fine. It behaves perfectly when driving normal, but driving hard for while causes the "limp mode" problem.

From the limited reading I have done online, it seems to be a common problem with some or other control module or something (not sure of the exact name will go check a bit later tonight) - some say do atf flush/service, others say it will only make it worse, some say do a recon, other say ride it till it breaks and do a manual conversion.

So who can I go to to have look at this? What options do I have?
Costs?? of service? and recon or manual conversion?

If it is the same, ABS control module. IIRC, my E39 525i had the same failure, was around 4k to fix at tune tech (5 years ago)

Is there similiar tool to vagcom for bmws? That I can get to keep scan and clear errors?
Im assuming that would be a good starting point

Just to add, there are no error lights on the dash when the above occurs.
It has happened 3 times since I have the car.

Probably not the same as i experienced. Mine threw error lights and the car struggled to select gears.

Suggest to get it checked by either Gizmo or a reputable BMW mechanic.
