Hi guys, Bought a 2003 320d E46 M47 8 months ago as spares or repairs. Struggles to start, kicks out white smoke, badly idles when it eventually starts.
basically so far I've replaced all 4 glow plugs, egr blank, inlet flap removal and blanking, vortex filter replacement on top of rocker cover and replaced the leak off pipes.
Now through INPA I'm getting codes: 4212 and 4b10. The car takes about 1-2 minutes start, when it does it is very lumpy with white smoke, it slowly revs up but once at 2500rpm then runs fine with no missing. I have had it on inpa and injectors 1 and 2 go off the chart and 3 and 4 don't even read on the chart until 2-2500rpm. Through Delphi it says values should be -4.0 to 5.0. Mine cyl1 is -8.78 and 2,3 and 4 read 0.0.
I am at the end of my tether with it. Also through Delphi when I read injector code 1,2 have 6 digit codes 3 has a 7 digit code and 4 has a 2 digit code being AA.
Please can someone shed a bit of light as ive had it since April 2015 and not used it yet, took it to an indy in oct 2015 and as of sunday just gone hadn't touched it so ive picked it back up. Also when running the channel where the injectors are slowly fills with diesel but cant see where from. Leak off pipes are brand new from the dealers.

:hammerhead:Have you checked the pcv and the diesel pump (in the tank)? Just a suggestion. If you have checked these :sorry:

i think check the injectors, they are poes expensive but they are known to leak or get blocked

as for white smoke thats a water into the motor issue

sorry guy :sorry:

Hi sorry forgot to mention the smoke clears when been running for a min or 2. I have removed all 4 injectors so going to have them all checked.

Try let Rheingold have a stab at it and maybe it'll point you down the right path. Rheingold always solves all of my problems. A priceless diagnostic tool.
