2003 320d £46 SL (Face lift)

Hi Guy's. Please help. I am desperately looking for a starter for a 2003 320d E46 SL Face Lift. The Turbo (Not surprising) packed up which we replaced. Now we cannot get the car to start. We have even connect three batteries but NO GO. We are told that the started could possibly have packed up

does the engine even turn over? if not its locked, ie. something solid went through the engine..

I should have mentioned... Yes, the engine does turn over with no latent noises or difficulty...

And if you take the starter onto the bench and try and get it going with a screwdriver and jumper cables ?

You can also have the starter rebuilt for about 500 or something in most cases.

Thank you. Much appreciated. Any idea where i can take the starter. There are so many who claim they can do this and that but i have just learned the very HARD way that this is always an expensive exercise. I am in Cape Town

I dont dude.

But its not rocket science, nor is it really hard core engineering to recon the starter.

Mind you, speak to Jandre, I think he has done research on starters down there, as he recently replaced one on his E34.
