2002ti Spotted in GP

Hey guys,

I was driving east on Garsfontein road next to Menlyn when an orange 2002ti drove past me heading west. I was so surprised that I almost broke my neck trying to look at it going past me.
Stupidly I forgot to get his number plate, and was hoping someone here knew who the owner was. I would like to track him down.

It was a LHD Colorado Orange 2002ti, looked like this car.

Yeah, was there last year. Some collection!
That is only one of 2 fully restored TIs I know of, and both are in Germany.

I saw one the other day in the south of Joburg.

Wow, where do they come from!
Are you sure it was a ti though? Or just a regular 2002?

@Cyclone101 - If it is the same car I'm thinking of, it used to be mine. The new owner always takes it to Zwartkops for Cars in the Park. Last time I saw it, it was running on 15" or 16" Alpinas. Pretty car, and was a one owner before I got it. The current owner is number 4.

my uncle owned the yellow one that was at the beemer day at the glen. He owned that car for over 40 years, till he sold it for R 20k. Also immaculate, 1 owner car....pity I can only remember him in that car.

It is Clive Mansel. He has many 2002s, but not a 2002ti that I am aware of.

Clive Massel has immigrated and sold all his 2002s before he left. The only one he took with him was my old Targa :-(
