Have you checked the oil level? If its low it will make that noise

Oil level is good, it is properly stuffed, sounds like a collapsed bearing under load...

So is no fluid coming through at all? Very hard steering? Had this a while ago due to a leak.

Hope your issue is sorted asap.

Sorry to hear that man. Mine makes grinding noises as well, but only when oil drops below the half mark in the tank, found out tlon the forum that the stick on the cap was actually a dipstick, and started filling it properly.

Hope you get sorted, but doubt you will find a unit today, maybe ask Gizmo?

Still have power steering, but the noise is incredible....tried to contact Gizmo, but it's weekend, I'm sure he needs time off, will try aftermarket guys shortly, some are open today.

But if you still have steering then surely it shouldn't be shot? Are you sure its completely topped up wiyh fluids? Check the dipstick

Still had power steering, but a hell of a grinding noise, anyway, found one at Beras, fitted, bled, no more noise, just the growl of the 3L engine, the way it should be....

mine did the same, had to replace it as well as the reservoir for the fluid, there's a filter in it. my one looked like crap from the metal filings after the pump died.

Hi there Kurt

Can you tell us what pump you got and what you paid for please ?

Beras in Alberton, R850.00, dunno the make, will look on the box. But.....you need the right tools to replace it, torx bits, ratchet, trestles, trolley jack and the knowledge to remove the drive belt, and then the correct procedure to bleed the system.
Not saying you don't, just advising not to take on this job if you don't.
On the other hand, someone with all the tools and knowledge should complete this job in 1.5 hours tops.
