So as some of you may know, I have been looking to buy a bat sh1t crazy car. something that makes no sense, with the exception of bringing a smile to your face.
Something you buy with your heart and not your head.
I toyed with buying a Porsche or even the crazy X5M, but none of them stirred my soul. Most cars now days drive you, you dont drive them.
And then I found her: and of course she is an M
Let me say from the outset that I am generally an OEM guy, I hate cars that are heavily modded or look like they have driven through a car stylist shop and all the part have fallen on the car.
But with this car I have made an exception....
It has the following Mods, which have been professionally done:
- Dixis Spirit Titanium Exhaust... WHAT a Noise :tiptoe:
- M-stabilizer bar Front and Rear
- KW Clubsport Coil-Overs
- Under drive pulley kit
- K&N Air Filter
- Uni-Q computer (tuned by KSD)
- X-Pipe
- Cats removed
- CSL boot lid
- Sub frame strengthening
Obviously buying a modded (even lightly) car brings concerns about mechanical reliability and the type of person that generally mods the car. Chatting to the owner who did the mods (a guy in his 40s in Constantia) he has maintained the car better than most.
- Car came off M/plan @ 78k in 2009
- Mods were done at 90k
- Between 80k and 104k the car has had 4 oil changes
- I have reams and reams of invoices for maintenance
Bearing Recall was done at 40k, so I have decided I will driver her for a year before sending her up to Peter for the VAC Motorsport bearings.
So I will shut up now and introduce you:
I have all the original parts to:
Shes Running after market Koya wheels, the Jury is still out on these, I think I will put CSL's on, but part of me likes them:
