Tested the car with the new OZ light rims and it is the single most MASSIVE increase in performance that i have ever felt on any one of my cars ever! Yes that much of a difference.
Car accelerates from 100-200 more than 3 seconds faster than stock.
My wagon turns in so much faster and nimbler than stock. Car feels like it is 15% faster and i know my car and the data as well and the car just pulls so much harder now that i have taken off so much weight both with the rims, brakes and tyres but the actual sprung weight as well that we removed like seats and interior stuff keeping in mind my Recaro Pole positions are only going to be here month end which will be the most weight in the 2 stock seats being removed.
Car brakes from 200-0 and 100-0 literally several seconds quicker as the brakes, wheels and tyres are all lighter the rotational mass is a massive 180kg's less than stock and the amount of energy that is saved on dealing with the huge unsprung weight difference is now utilised in propelling the car forward faster and reducing the speed variant massively quicker like i said literally several seconds quicker.
Seriously guy's the BEST mod i have ever done ever and to think that when my mate and his hugely impressive GT3 RS installed the OZ light weight rim i said that he must have his head read as they were the worst looking rims i had ever seen(same as mine i bought now) and his answer was you do not understand the laws of physics and unsprung weight and rotational mass forces.
Clearly not many of us do, a quick Google search and the terminology may be easier to throw around BUT do you really know what all that jargon means if you have not first hand experienced it. Answer to this is like what my understanding was a big fat NO!:flyfun:
I thought i did and that it was just talk and never quiet understood the concept but i now realise how wrong i was after testing my wagon today. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! Called my buddy and he just laughed and said that he had told me so but was happy i had gone through the entire process of tracking a car properly and that i now knew the difference for myself and that i could feel all the pro's myself as to why the world of racing is always fighting weight and not power output and why the big boys of the race industry employ these race secrets on their production cars.
Cant wait to test my wagon at Kyalami tomorrow after the race setup has been done as i could not ride the car to hard today with new rims and new semis on.
