1M Time Attack Car

to say it has nothing to do with oil temp is too simplistic...

seems to me a major cause of oil heat is the piston because it cannot be cooled much by the radiator system...

ceramic coating on pistons reduces oil temps because it helps to stop heat transfer though the piston...

if you inject a mixture with alot of water it cools the combustion chamber and pistons...

No effect on oil temp? seems to me no one has tried because they more interested in knock suppression and tend to run more meth to make more power(meth only cools charge)...

anyway im not interested in arguing i just assumed that because you already running very high octane fuel you might be looking at w/m to help keep temperatures down rather than boosting octane...

keep up the good work :)

I watch my videos of this damn car at Kyalami every single day, sometimes twice a day.

Am I a 1M addict and I dont even own one?:fencelook:

I am running meth bud! The more meth the bigger risk of fire and it's is an industry rule 50/50 mix makes the most reliable power.

Combustion temperature reduced by meth reduces oil temp as piston crown temp is reduced but oil cooler will help though.

like i said in my earlier post i have no doubt that w/m wont be as effective as a proper oil cooler but it is a nice add on effect to the other advantages :)

if its not to much trouble maybe you could log some data on oil temps with w/m and without...

So 120 octane is sometimes not really 120 octane and maybe 95 added to 102.6 afgas and some other kak! My wagon gave me endless nonsense since the KAR dyno day as I don't drive it much I have had 40 liters in for a while now and getting gatvol of the nonsense so climbed on the big road put 95 pump and all of a sudden car lights up the highway with shocks of it seems the O2 and lambda sensors getting blown clean literally at very high speed, wish my goPro was mounted to the rear! Was spectacular!

Anyways todays word of advice stick to 98 race gas from reputable dealers and racetracks!

JOY IS MY WAGON.

Car setup will be done at ADF Motorsport for Midvaal for the 18th August. Will also be running G5 Board for the first time with a dry track setup and some new suspension bits on the sway bars and rear diff bushes.:inlove:

Oh and we are powder coating the new OZ rims candy apple BLUE. My favourite colour so lets see what it looks like on the car, will post some pics.

Drifting session at Rock Raceway wednesday morning with Chase, looking forward in seeing what the 1M feels like and how the car performs.

This is the best fuel mix I have tested to date. 5 liters E95 with 15 liters 95 pump and it's a massive increase in power and also affordability and accessible as well and very AWESOME!!!

that works out to 23.75% ethanol in your fuel wont your fuel system get eaten? i know most cars can run on 10% ethanol easily without negative effects...

cant you run it back to 10% ethanol and use the WI to make up for the rest?

They use to say the reason for the HPFP problems in the US was due to the ethanol content in their fuel. But this has not been proven. Ethanol mixes are being successfully run in the US; sweden, brazil etc...on the X35 platform. Dedicated e85 Pump stations are available in most US cities. The JB4 has a special flex-fuel map to optimise and take advantage of an ethanol mix. In addition to the ethanol; Edz is also running a 50% water/meth mix with a 50 additive. I suspect he can increase that additive to a value of 60 to crank up the boost even more. The JB4 through logging would be able to tell us if the 30% ethanol mix is ideal or if it needs to be scaled down. Currently he is not experiencing cold start issues etc...But waiting for his new logs to come in.

I will test with a 10% ethanol volume mix and take it from there.

well newer cars should be more setup to deal with ethanol because new US laws are pushing to have ethanol more and more in fuel...

10% is 100% safe for almost all fuel injected cars it has been proven in Brazil where they have been running it for ages...

most newer cars should be able to handle more ethanol thats why i was asking if the 23% was safe :) its still way lower than the e85 so if e85 is safe then there is no problem running the mix Edz is using on his car

Twins do you have any dyno charts of n54s running on e85 should be interesting to see how they compare with those running on normal..

Keep it at no more than 30% as my wagon runs strong like this but anything more which I tested it throws fuel error so just added more pump fuel let it adapt and car was fine again. Just keep in mind our fuel is shit to start off with and already has high volumes of the cheapest shit in it including ethanol so next test will be race gas and 30% E95.

You know how i feel about dyno runs...a waste of fuel. But i will send you links of logged data and some dyno runs.
