:argh: dont blame the speed guys..its like saying guns kill.
there was an accident down the road from me where a fool also died because he took out an electrical pylon and downed electricity all over, its unfair what these guys are doing to their families by speeding in unsafe circumstances.

anyhow RIP fella

Agreed its sad for the guys family, but money can not buy you brains
You should only hammer a car like this on a track its not just 1Ms at my old mans work there is 2 guys with new gtis that they have smashed so many times now they can not get insurance cover from anyone. Its true with power comes responsibility

I don't know why people say money doesn't buy you brains. People die so often in similar accidents with cheap cars too. What should one say then "poorness makes you stupid?"

:sorry: RIP

looks like a 1M and not 325iS. Wow

strongs to his family.

It's a 135i. I work with a business partner of his. They own a diving school together. Oh, and he was not burnt beyond recognition like it stated. He sustained major injuries of course but the car went up in flames after his was pulled out.

Seems like a straight and narrow road. Alone, maybe attempting a high speed run or racing. Road looks in bad condition and at those speeds a bit of sand or a hole in the road throws you into a tree.

Condolences to his family. I know we all go for a nice run now and then but its a wake up call i think for all to stay safe and think of the families involved who have to live with this the rest of their lives and not those few seconds of excitement you get out of it.

Before you publish stories, please just get your facts straight! The driver of the BMW that crashed on Thursday 27 September, was not burned to death, or beyond recognition! He was pulled out of the car before the car exploded! We saw his body on Friday, and there are NO signs of ANY burn wounds!! This is hard enough for his family and friends, without false rumours being published!

that was the attachment committed on looklocal.....now what do we believe....if he did pass on may his soul rest in peace:nonono:

A man was burned beyond recognition when his BMW 325is burst into flames, after he crashed into a tree on Geldenhuys Road in Putfontein yesterday morning at 11am.

The fire department attended the scene and when paramedics from ER24 arrived they found the burnt out wreck with the driver still inside.

"There was no sign of any other vehicle being involved in the accident and it is suspected that the driver lost control of his car, but an investigation is still ongoing," said ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks.

There is a comment left on the same link where apparently a few of the details were omitted.

:(

condolences to the family. sad to see a life go so horrifically.

I agree, the fact that people are buying these cars at a R200K premium and not getting the advanced drivers course thrown in is not a good thing. This car probably was travelling around its speed limit, which was also a bit irresponsible - especially on a road like that.

And many have said he paid the price. I don't mean disrespect to the departed, but its the truth. For his few seconds of thrills, came a lifetime of sorrow to his loved ones.

Sad, sad, sad...

I have been personally involved in enough news stories to know not to believe details in a news story. Not one story i know about got the whole truth correct. So by extrapolation all news stories are 50% wrong. Forums only run slightly better:fencelook:

Very sad and terrifying picture to look at.

Turbo BMW's are just always begging to be driven fast - they are too easy to drive fast. You get overconfident/complacent and things can go wrong very quickly.

Saw a guy in a white 1M this morning and he was driving like a maniac in traffic. Almost caused an accident right next to me.

R.I.P.

We have all done silly things on the road and this is a reminder to chose where you drive fast. Need to have the right road conditions and the right visibility. The last thing you want is to be the cause of the demise of someone else (never mind your own) because they happen to be using the same road.
