Howsit guys
Since buying my 135i I have had nothing but good fun, a great driving experience and always with a smile on my face whenever I get into it.
Below are a list of the changes made and some cleaning along with pics:
1. I picked up a BMS intake from a forum member. By faaaaar the best investment, the car makes all kinds of hisses and whoosh sounds when driving. Best is 2nd gear pulls... when changing to 3rd, the turbo noise coupled with the backfire from the MPE.... I die everytime
2. Danny from DSC hooked me up with a chargepipe upgrade. He gave me great service, explained to me about things on the car and all round just a great experience I had dealing with him, thank you Danny
3. The Mperformance spoiler for this car is the one! So I bit the bullet and bought it straight from BMW centurion along with the adhesive kit and installed it. They did give me a discount for being a BMWCCG member. I was shocked at the weight of it in my hands, it weighs nothing, and the carbon fiber pattern is flawless. Removing the old spoiler was a pain. I left the car out in the sun for a bit and then used gut to cut through the adhesive. The residue left on the car is where it gets annoying, I was impatient so I started sacrificing 1 finger at a time trying to get it off. After getting off the big pieces I got some WD40 sprayed it on and it came off very easily from there. Quick polish, alignment of the new spoiler, adhesive.... and I was a happy guy
5. 1 of my rear lights were cracked so water was getting in and mounding up, I picked a set up from a guy on gumtree which were next to new, that eye sore is long gone now. My 3rd brake light was also cracked, got this from BMW centurion also and blacked it out with lamin-x
6. Got a set of black and white wheel badges from Dino Denash, paid and received the package 2 days later via postnet so thank you also to Dino for the good service. Sticking with badges I managed to get a black and white front bonnet badge also, I didn't manage to get the rear boot badge if anyone knows where I can get it please give me a shout
7. Cleaning
Something was dropped in the boot by the previous owner so it had a weird dead kinda smell in there and there was some crazy stuff on the boot plastic trimming, I cleaned it up good using some Megs multipurpose cleaner and sprayed on the Megs carpet refresher and odor eliminator let it sit overnight and sprayed it again. I did this to the inside of the car carpets as well, as the carpet under the back seat was never cleaned before. Leather got a wash and treatment too but I didn't take before and after pics of these I will take some interior pics tomorrow. I used a magic sponge from Spar on the steering wheel and I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome, no effort AT ALL and the sponge removes the dirt. Next was the hazy front lights which I used a Megs cleaning kit for, it's not the greatest using your hand for this job, I would recommend tackling it with a drill rather but it was a fair result.
8. Service done at ABM. Oil change, spark plugs, brake flush, cabin filter. The front brakes were on the list to be changed but they service consultant phoned me and said there was still life in them and didn't require a change. Great safe service from ABM during lockdown. You complete a survey online and receive a 24hr barcode which gets scanned when you enter the premises, the car then receives a spray/steam inside to sterilize. They do notify you that the car wash service is not currently available. Everything was done very safely in the dealership
9. Lastly this is not something I have done yet but need to do, my front and rear bumper has some damage from purchase, it's minor damage. This will be my next project to sand, body fill and paint, or I could just send it to a body shop. Thereafter ceramic coat it and maintain the finish.
Enjoy the pics guys thank you
